September 12 - October 2
6:15a - 7:14a
Dear Prayer Warrior,
Are you breathing right now? The answer is "yes." You are alive and reading this because of air. Because of the body's ability to bring air into your life. The best part is you don't even think about it. Your body simply breathes. Prayer is the breath for Jesus' Church. It's that life-sustaining process that brings clarity, power, and ability to us as we follow Jesus to heaven. Over the next #21Days you will be challenged in ways that might surprise you, perhaps will change you but in ways that will certainly bring life to the church. The following booklet is not a "how-to" guide, though it has some very insightful ways to sharpen and grow your life of prayer. This booklet is simply a guide to help you see how people throughout history have prayed and to help guide you into new and fresh ways to walk with Jesus. We have adapted this guide from a great church in Birmingham Alabama called Church of the Highlands. Highlands is a growing, thriving fellowship that truly "prays without ceasing."
My prayer for us at GMC is that at the end of this #21Days we will look more like Jesus having spent time with Him. My prayer is that of Paul to the Ephesian church "I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit. Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong. And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God. Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think. Glory to him in the church and in Christ Jesus through all generations forever and ever! Amen." Ephesians 3:16-20
For the next #21Days let's be #Devoted to Praying:
Before the day begins —
Before you go to bed —
Before you go to work or school — Before you send that text —
Before you eat, drive or travel — When bad things happen —
Before bad things happen —
In every situation — Be #Devoted to prayer!
Prayer changes everything!
